An overcast and dull morning turned very wet and miserable in the afternoon. Series running were BARC FF1600, BARC Formula Renault, Caterhams, MG owners club and Kumho BMW championship.

The end of year FF and Saloon carnivals, supported by the Classic FF1600, Classic FF2000, GB Formula Ford and the Combe home series.

After a hard time shooting qually into the sun the afternoon produced great light and some of the best racing I've seen all season.

After a quick visit to the paddock, mainly to see how bad the McLaren M1 was damaged after going off on oil and hitting the pitwall, it was back over to Luffield for the racing. Poor light and a stiff breeze meant less photography and more watching....never a bad thing.

After an early morning visit to the infield in search of breakfast and pretty tin it was over to Luffield for an excellent days racing. The WSM race was run to dusk and images were shot from Priory.

Despite heavy showers the racing was far better than day 1.

Day two of the Castle Combe Classic carnival and it was the turn of the HSCC series. Races were for Classic F3, historic road sports, historic FF1600, 70s road sports, Guards trophy, classic racing cars, historic Saloons, BARC classic clubmans and the three CCRC home series, saloons, special GT and FF1600.

Featuring the Top Hat/Masters series, Stars of the 70s, Oldies but Goldies, Pre-66 GTs and XK challenge, Pre-66 saloons plus the CCRC FF1600 and CCRC special GT championships.

The 59th running of the St. John Horsfall race was the headline event at a meeting that attracted a fantastic quality field. Other races included the Aston Martin Classics, pre 1960 sports racing cars, Aston Martin Historics, 50s sports car team challenge, super GTs and the David Brown challenge.

Series running were MGCC Thoroughbred sportscars, Alfa Romeo, MG Midget, Morgans, MGCC BCV8s and the three excellent Combe home championships.

Second day of the International Trophy meeting and with lighter winds the heat haze was a real problem. I probably lost 70% of shots with still more suffering from varying degrees of distortion.
Categories running were GTSCC, Derek Bell trophy, 70s Roadsports, Formula Junior, historic racing saloons and the BRDC sportcars.

Heat haze was an issue as the day went on, with some images suffering from the dreaded distortion caused by having to shoot over acres of gravel traps and tarmac run off areas.

Round 2 of the Castle Combe Saloon, FF1600 and Special GT championships with guest series Production BMWs, Ma5da MX5 and LMA Euro championships.

The first round of the FIA GT championship supported by 2 rounds of the British F3 series and a round of the FIA GT3 and European GT4 championships.

A foggy start turned into a lovely, sunny spring day.
Series running were Stock Hatch, Formula 4, Formula Vee, Intermarque league/Tigers/Cannons Tin top and Castle Combe's own Formula Ford, Saloon and Special GT championships.

A cold, windy and dull day weather wise, apart from the appearance of the sun late on.
Series running were the 250cc karts, pre '93 touring cars, post historic touring cars, Morgans, Classic modified saloons MaX5s and Classic group One touring cars.

Circuit racing season opener for me and I hope it's not a sign of things to come. Silverstone was cold, very windy with rain and hail showers and the races were dull. Combined with this photographer have a off day a meeting to forget.

A foggy start to the day before the sun burnt through. Besides the Bugatti Owners club members cars there were also runs from the Porsche Club Speed Championship, the Reliant Scimitar and Sabre Speed Championship and the Luffield Cars MG Car Club Speed Championship. There was also various motorbike and sidecar entries.
